Abstract

This project aims to sort more efficiently the different actions of research, development and innovation, linked to new technologies of assisted reproduction, including related areas, involving animal germplasm. In this way, the proposal seeks to broaden activities developed with partners from different areas, better exploit multi-disciplinary aspects and, above all, develop strategies that can contribute to increase the competitiveness of Brazilian livestock. The proposal includes the following areas of knowledge: reproduction, genetics, health and nutrition. It consists of 10 component projects that collectively address the aspects of Research Development and Innovation. The component projects Quality of Gametes PC04, Embryo Productions (PC05), Clones Production (PC06) and Production of Transgenic Animals (PC07) constitute a Nucleus of Advanced Biology strongly associated to the CP Nutrition (PC03) and Health Safety of Semen, oocyte and embryo (PC02), as a “recipient “of information and as a “supplier” of knowledge with the Genetic Resources/Improvement (PC08) and Validation of Technologies/Products (PC09). The PC10 Innovation is the instrument of articulation of the Network with the productive sector and therefore it permeates all other CPs with exception of CP Management, which articulates and monitors the entire Network. Among all CPs there is an exchange of information and technical interdependence, although some of them can supply/receive more than the others. Innovation focuses capacity building of human resources and the insertion of technologies generated/adapted in the diverse productive chains. The cryopreservation, the species and the actions of molecular biology are transversal actions. Actions complementary to the ones proposed herein, could be included in as the Network is able to establish new partnerships and attract additional financial resources.
